About the Nomads

IMG_2873Hi Friends!

The initial goal of this blog was to provide our family members and friends back home a medium by which they could partake in and understand our experiences as we travel on the road. Since its creation in 2014, the goal of the blog has transformed as we have transformed. We hope this blog inspires you to explore our biological spaceship and all of the surprises it has to offer.

At the end of the day, we hope you find something meaningful in this blog. We have.

About Us

Main Content Creator – John A. Albrecht-Pierce was born in Boston, MA but spent most of his life growing up in the small town of Bandera, Texas. After receiving his B.A. in English Literature and his M.A. in Linguistics, he decided to travel the world and teach. He first started teaching at a kids’ school in Shanghai, China where he would meet his life-long partner who shared his love for travel, linguistics, and teaching language.

Editor-in-Chief – Danielle L.M. Albrecht-Pierce was born in Lansing, MI and grew up in various places scattered across the mid-west. She’s been traveling around the world since she was 11, including places such as Mexico, Albania, Greece, Poland, the Czech Republic, and Morocco. After getting a B.A. in Language Teaching and a ESL teaching license, she moved to China in 2011. Two years later, she met the love of her life at the school where she was teaching.

Lastly, we would like to thank those people that have cared for us throughout our nomadic life:

– Our parents and family have always supported our life choices and our decision to live as nomads.
– A big shout out to our friends. You have shown us how to be truly compassionate human beings. We would be destitute without you in our life.
– Our students. Without you, we wouldn’t be employed and wouldn’t be able to travel the world. Moreover and more importantly, you have taught us more about ourselves than anyone else. You challenge us, surprise us, and make us truly adore the world.
